Ariel was a 0-4-0T steam locomotive built for the Geelong and Melbourne Railway Company by Walker & Munro of Geelong in December 1855. It was numbered as GMRC No.1.[1][2] It was sold to Victorian Railways on 3 September 1860, where it would carry no number and no class name, as was the standard for Victorian Railways until 1886. It was withdrawn in 1897 and sold to an unknown buyer.[3]
