Track work in 2018–19, which included replacement of platform edges at several stops, triggered requirements for accessibility modifications at those stops. As of May 2021[update], the MBTA expects construction at St. Paul Street and seven other C Branch stations to begin in 2023–24.[2]
St. Paul Street shared its name with a surface stop on the Green Line B branch, and was the only such duplicate in the MBTA system. On November 12, 2021, the B branch stop was closed to be replaced by Amory Street station.
