Storia

La stazione venne inaugurata il 30 giugno 1879 dalla Metropolitan Railway (ora la linea Metropolitan) a seguito dell'estensione dei binari da Swiss Cottage. La stazione fu capolinea temporaneo fino alla successiva estensione verso Willesden Green aperta il 24 novembre dello stesso anno. Il 20 novembre 1939 passò a far parte della linea Bakerloo quando questa prese la gestione dei servizi sul ramo di Stanmore. Il 1º maggio 1979 quindi venne trasferita alla linea Jubilee, mentre i treni della linea Metropolitan passano nella stazione senza fermarsi.

Interscambi

La stazione consente l'interscambio con la stazione omonima della linea North London della London Overground, dalla quale dista 100 metri, e con la stazione omonima di Thameslink, dalla quale dista 200 metri[1].

Nelle vicinanze della stazione effettuano fermata alcune linee automobilistiche, gestite da London Buses[2].

West Hampstead ist eine oberirdische Station der London Underground im Stadtbezirk London Borough of Camden. Sie liegt in der Travelcard-Tarifzone 2 an der West End Lane. Die von der Jubilee Line bediente Station wurde im Jahr 2014 von 10,59 Millionen Fahrgästen genutzt.[1] In unmittelbarer Nähe befindet sich der Bahnhof West Hampstead, der von den Gesellschaften Thameslink und London Overground bedient wird.

West Hampstead is a London Underground station in West Hampstead. It is located on West End Lane between Broadhurst Gardens and Blackburn Road and is situated in Travelcard Zone 2. It is on the Jubilee line between Kilburn and Finchley Road stations. It is 100 m (110 yd) from West Hampstead station on the London Overground North London line and 200 m (220 yd) from West Hampstead Thameslink station. Metropolitan line trains also pass through the station, but do not usually stop.
