Storia
La stazione fu aperta il 24 giugno 1916.[3] Venne ristrutturata nel 2012 grazie ai fondi stanziati dall'American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.[4]
Strutture e impianti
La stazione è posta su un viadotto al di sopra di New Utrecht Avenue, ha due banchine laterali e tre binari, dei quali solo i due esterni sono utilizzati regolarmente.[5] Sotto il piano binari sono posizionati due mezzanini separati e ognuno ospita un gruppo di tornelli e due scale per il piano stradale, quelle del mezzanino nord portano all'incrocio con 77th Street, quelle del mezzanino sud all'incrocio con 79th Street.[6]

The 79th Street station is a local station on the BMT West End Line of the New York City Subway, located at the intersection of 79th Street and New Utrecht Avenue in Bensonhurst, Brooklyn. It is served by the D train at all times. The station opened in 1916 as part of the BMT West End Line, which was upgraded into an elevated line as part of the Dual Contracts.
