La stazione fu aperta nel 1987 a Millwall, successivamente venne estesa per consentire l'uso di 2 treni differenti. La stazione era limitata da curve affilate su entrambe le estremità e non poteva quindi essere ulteriormente estesa sul suo precedente sito. La DLR prevedeva di utilizzare 3 treni su questa linea, pertanto prevedeva il trasferimento di questa stazione in un nuovo sito sul Millwall Dock, a una certa distanza ad est, facendo sì che la stazione trasferita fosse in parte in Cubitt Town.
Il 26 ottobre 2009 venne aperta la nuova stazione, a 125 metri più ad est.[1]
