Storia
La stazione venne realizzata come parte della prima fase della Second Avenue Subway. I lavori di costruzione ebbero inizio nell'aprile 2007.[3] Fu aperta al pubblico il 1º gennaio 2017.[4]
Strutture e impianti
La stazione è sotterranea, ha due binari e una banchina a isola larga 8,5 metri.[5] È posta al di sotto di Second Avenue e il mezzanino possiede quattro punti di accesso dal piano stradale: un ascensore e un ingresso dotato di una scala e due scale mobili sono situati nell'angolo sud-ovest dell'incrocio con 96th Street, un ingresso con tre scale mobili si trova nell'angolo nord-est dell'incrocio con 94th Street, infine un altro dotato di una scala e una scala mobile si trova all'interno di un edificio nell'angolo sud-ovest dello stesso incrocio.[6]

The 96th Street station is a station on the IND Second Avenue Line of the New York City Subway. Located at the intersection of Second Avenue and 96th Street on the border of the Upper East Side/Yorkville and East Harlem neighborhoods in Manhattan, it is the northern terminus for the Q train at all times. It is also served by limited southbound rush hour N trains and one northbound morning rush hour R train.
