Histoire


Elle a été créée par le London, Chatham and Dover Railway (LCDR) en 1886 sur la ligne entre le sud de Londres et Holborn Viaduct ou Farringdon, qui est ouvert en 1864. Elle a d'abord porté le nom de St Paul's (d'après le nom de la Cathédrale Saint-Paul), elle est renommée Blackfriars en 1937.

    Blackfriars ist ein Bahnhof im gleichnamigen Stadtteil in der City of London, dem Finanzdistrikt von London. Die Anlage, die auch eine unterirdische Station der London Underground umfasst, befindet sich in der Travelcard-Tarifzone 1, am Nordufer der Themse und direkt neben der Blackfriars Bridge. Im Jahr 2014 nutzten 13,14 Millionen U-Bahn-Fahrgäste den Bahnhof, hinzu kommen 14,412 Millionen Fahrgäste der Eisenbahn.[1][2]

    Blackfriars, also known as London Blackfriars, is a central London railway station and connected London Underground station in the City of London. It provides Thameslink services: local (from North to South London), and regional (Bedford and Cambridge to Brighton) and limited Southeastern commuter services to South East London and Kent. Its platforms span the River Thames, the only one in London to do so, along the length of Blackfriars Railway Bridge, a short distance downstream from Blackfriars Bridge. There are two station entrances either side of the Thames, along with a connection to the London Underground District and Circle lines.
