La gare se trouve le terminus de la ligne du Bohus.


Histoire


La gare date de 1858; avant ceci, le centre de détention et d'administration de Göteborg se trouvait sur les lieux. La prison était sur le site de 1816 à 1855. En 1855, il y avait 16 employés qui veillent sur les services de train à Göteborg[1].

Le premier architecte était Adolf Wilhelm Edelsvärd. Un feu en 1923 détruit une partie de la gare; la gare a été élargi et reconstruit par la suite d'après des dessins de Folke Zettervall[1].

Göteborgs centralstation oder Göteborg C ist der Hauptbahnhof der schwedischen Stadt Göteborg. Er ist der zweitgrößte Bahnhof des Landes nach Stockholms centralstation und wird von täglich 40.000 Reisenden genutzt. Der Bahnhof ist ein Kopfbahnhof mit 16 Gleisen und wurde am 4. Oktober 1858 eröffnet. Von Göteborg C fahren Züge nach Oslo, Stockholm, Malmö und Kopenhagen. Des Weiteren werden alle größeren Städte in Schweden von hier angefahren.

Gothenburg Central Station (Swedish: Göteborgs centralstation, Göteborg C) is the main railway station of Gothenburg and it is the oldest railway station in Sweden still in use.[1] The station serves 27 million passengers per year,[2] making it the second largest railway station in Sweden after Stockholm Central Station which it predates by 13 years.[1] The station opened on October 4, 1858. The station is situated in the city of Gothenburg, right by Drottningtorget. The Gothenburg Central Station, Centralhuset and Nils Ericson Terminalen are a part of Resecentrum, Göteborg.[3] Gothenburg Central Station is owned and administered by Jernhusen.[4]
