Histoire

Comme les autres stations de la Dan Ryan Branch, elle a été construite par le cabinet d’architectes Skidmore, Owings & Merrill et a ouvert ses portes en 1969.

69th a été entièrement rénovée en 2007 tout comme le dépôt de bus et elle est désormais accessible aux personnes à mobilité réduite grâce à l’installation d’ascenseurs[1].

Outre une nouvelle signaletique intérieure et extérieure, la station a également reçu un nouveau toit translucide sur l'entierté de son quai.

69th Street is a metro station on the Chicago Transit Authority's 'L' system, serving the Red Line. The station is located in the median of the Dan Ryan Expressway, within the Greater Grand Crossing neighborhood. The station's entrance is on West 69th St. This station connects with the second most bus routes (first is 95th/Dan Ryan) on the Dan Ryan Branch, and is one of the terminals for the N5 South Shore Night Bus (the other is 95th/Dan Ryan). This makes it an important connection for buses, especially Night Owl connections.
