Die Elektrolokomotiven der Baureihe 101 von DB Fernverkehr sind Hochleistungs-Universallokomotiven mit Drehstromantrieb. Sie wurden Mitte der 1990er Jahre als Ersatz für die damals etwa 25 Jahre alten Lokomotiven der Baureihe 103 beschafft. Adtranz bekam den Auftrag über 145 Lokomotiven. Die für die US-amerikanische New Jersey Transit gebauten Elektrolokomotiven ALP-46 und ALP-45DP haben Drehgestelle ähnlich der Baureihe 101.

The DB Class 101 is a class of three-phase electric locomotives built by Adtranz and operated by DB Fernverkehr in Germany. 145 locomotives were built between 1996 and 1999 to replace the 30-year-old and aging Class 103 as the flagship of the Deutsche Bahn, primarily hauling Intercity services. This class encompasses the latest generation of locomotives of the Deutsche Bahn.

Les locomotives électriques de la série 101 de la Deutsche Bahn AG sont des locomotives universelles de hautes performances à moteurs triphasés. Elles ont été mises en service au milieu des années 1990 en remplacement des anciennes locomotives (DB série 103, par exemple). La DB a commandé à Adtranz (aujourd'hui filiale de Bombardier) Adtranz a reçu une commande de 145 locomotives.

DB Class 101 (иные обозначения — DB-Baureihe 101) — германский электровоз переменного тока. Производился с 1996 по 1999 годы. Эксплуатировался как пассажирский и грузовой. С 2001 по 2002 годы в США производилась лицензионная копия локомотива под названием ALP-46. Не считая количество ALP-46, было построено 145 экземпляров DB 101.
